KEITH KAWAMOTO Obituary

KEITH SHIGE KAWAMOTO Keith Shige Kawamoto, 66, of Mililani, Hawaii, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2025 after a 9 month battle with esophageal cancer. Keith was born on September 4, 1958 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Shuichi and Jackie (Miyauchi) Kawamoto. Starting out as a long-term substitute teacher for a couple of years at Highlands Intermediate, Pearl City and Waipahu High Schools, Keith received his tenure and retired as a teacher at Nanakuli High and Intermediate School after over 36 years. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Jill (Hamamoto) Kawamoto, daughter, Rebecca (Troy) Maeda; son, Alexander Kawamoto; and granddaughter, Zuki Maeda. He is also survived by sister, Leslynne Perry. Many thanks to his numerous doctors and medical staff that took loving care of Keith throughout the years, before and after his heart and kidney transplant and after being diagnosed with cancer. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at the Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel. Visitation begins at 5:30pm with service to follow at 6:30pm. Burial will be on Friday, September 5, 2025 at 9:30am. The family requests no flowers. Casual attire.
