Loretta Hanamoto Obituary

LORETTA (LORI) MASAKO HANAMOTO Loretta (Lori) Masako Hanamoto, 81, of Hawaii Kai, passed away peacefully at home on December 25, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Honolulu on February 16, 1943, Lori graduated from Farrington High School and Kapiolani Technical School as a dental assistant. She began her career at the dental office of Dr. Hirashima, after taking time off from work to take care of her young children, she worked at MK Engineers, before working with her husband at HH Electric, Inc. in 1985, where she worked until her retirement in 2011 as Vice President and Secretary. Lori was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mae (Tsukenjo) Oshiro; and brother, Clifford Oshiro. She is survived by her devoted husband, Herbert; daughter, Jody Hanamoto (Robb Kobayashi); son, Brian Hanamoto (Sharon); and grandchildren, Kastin, Macy, and Kylen. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Oshiro; sister, Violet Nakano (Brian); brothers-in-law, sisters-in- law, nieces, nephews; two dedicated caretakers, Grace and Jamie Purcell; and her beloved guard dog, Lexi. A memorial service to celebrate Lori's life will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Hosoi Garden Mortuary. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., with the service following at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Nuuanu Memorial Park at 2:00 p.m. Lori will always be remembered for her warmth, strength, and love for her family and friends. She touched many lives and will be deeply missed. Arrangements Provided By: Hosoi Garden Mortuary
