Madison Goff Obituary

MADISON LEE GOFF Born 19 Jan 1944, Died 26 May 2023. Madison Lee Goff, better known as Lee Goff, was born in Glendale, California. He moved to Hawaii in 1961, completing his BS degree in Zoology at the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 1966. Following his time in the U.S. Army (1966-1968), he completed his MS degree in Biology at California State University, Long Beach, in 1974 and his PhD in Entomology from UH Manoa, in 1977. He was employed as an Acarologist at B.P. Bishop Museum from 1977 until 1983 when he moved to the UH Manoa. He retired from UH Manoa, as a Professor of Entomology in 2001, and later, from Chaminade University in 2013, where he was a Professor and Director of the Forensic Sciences Program. He was well-known for his work in Forensic Entomology and as a Consultant to CSI. He loved surfing, riding his Harley, and travelling. He never really grew up. He was predeceased by his fish, Sashimi and Poke, a number of relatives, a lot of people he knew, and even more he had never met or heard of during their lives. He had an amazing sense of humor and, as many may have guessed, wrote most of this himself. He is survived by his wife, Dianne, 2 daughters, Dana and Alaina, 8 grandchildren, Niko, Nicia, Joseph, Amiabella, Neeva, Sawyer, Asha, Sadie-Rose, and 1 great-grandchild, 'Auli'i.
