Margaret Iwamoto Obituary

MARGARET MIYEKO IWAMOTO Age 98, of Honolulu, was sent toward enlightenment on June 26, 2025. Margaret was born to Sanroku and Yone Nakagawa in Honolulu, the third of eight children. When World War II started, Margaret was a student at Kaimuki High School. In 1948, Margaret married high school friend Tsugio Iwamoto. They were married for 74 years and raised two sons. After the war, Margaret began working at Sear's Roebuck and Company until retirement after 30 years. Margaret was an accomplished sewist, enjoyed cooking, traveling and most importantly, spending time with family and friends. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Sanroku and Yone Nakagawa, and siblings Gertrude Kuromoto, Ruth Teruya, Dorothy Suetsugu and George Nakagawa. Margaret passed away prior to sister Florence Kuwada. She is survived by her brother Herbert Nakagawa and sister Gladys Zukeran and sons Keith (Althea) Iwamoto and Craig (Diane) Iwamoto, grandchildren Dr. Sean (Andy Hicks) Iwamoto and Dr. Kate (Matt Noll) Iwamoto, and many nieces and nephews. Margaret's generosity, kindness, easygoing disposition, smile, care for others before herself, and desire for generations after her to succeed will be genuinely missed.
