Nancy Nakamura Obituary

NANCY FUMIKO NAKAMURA Nancy Fumiko Nakamura, age 89, of Honolulu, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025. Born in Kalihi on January 26, 1936, she was the beloved daughter of Shigeru and Shigeyo Akamine. Nancy graduated from Farrington High School and later earned her degree from Honolulu Business College. She dedicated over 34 years of her life to the City & County of Honolulu, mainly serving in the Human Resources Department at the Honolulu Police Department, where she was deeply respected for her professionalism and kindness. Nancy accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a very young age. A devoted member of Kalihi Union Church from her teenage years, Nancy found great joy in her relationships with the Women's Fellowship Ohana, where she built lasting friendships and supported others with her unwavering faith. Nancy loved Jesus deeply and was passionate about sharing His love with everyone she met. Her life was a testament to her faith, and she cherished the opportunity to encourage others to know and love Jesus as well. Nancy was a loving mother to her two children, Craig (Natalie) and Paul (Donna) Nakamura and a proud grandmother to Bryce (Lauren), Brandon, and Chase. She also leaves behind her sisters, Leatrice Sakuma and Sandra Sakata, and many dear nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Yoshio, with whom she shared a beautiful life full of love and laughter for 61 years. Nancy's kindness, strength, and devotion to her faith will be greatly missed, but her spirit will live on forever in the hearts of those she touched. A celebration of Nancy's life will be held on January 10, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Kalihi Union Church with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family asks that donations be made to Kalihi Union Church in her memory. Arrangements Provided By: Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary LLC
