PATRICIA ANN "PULAMAWAI" GANABAN

PATRICIA GANABAN Obituary

PATRICIA ANN PULAMAWAI GANABAN Age 71, of Makakilo, passed away on 31 January 2024 at home surrounded by loved ones and friends due to cancer. Born to Edward and Abbie (deceased) Lamoya on 1 Nov 1952 in Palolo, raised in Waipahu and graduated from Waipahu High School. Patricia enlisted in the U.S Air Force after high school, stationed at Hickam AFB where she served in Vietnam. She transitioned to the Hawaii Air National Guard. She retired from the HI-ANG to care for her first grandchild. Pat later found work at Wheeler Elementary School as a Teacher's Assistant as well as heading the school's nature garden, a program she created. She assisted other schools with starting their own garden to teach students the importance of protecting the aina and patience of nurturing seeds to fruition. A member of Toho No Hikari church, Pat assisted with the church's annual Childrens Art exhibitions that started in Elementary Schools libraries, and which can be seen annually at Honolulu Hale. She also was a church board member providing guidance and insight for their natural farming program. This spirituality and respect for nature allowed her wisdom and spirit to nurture souls from all over the world. Patricia is survived by her children, Damian and Ginger (Domi), grandchildren Desirae Ganaban, Devin and Dylan (Berdadero), Destinee and Dreyden (Cabais); sisters Sandra (Jonathan), Didi (William Sr.), Gisele (Calvin), Michelle (Richard), and brother Meldan Lamoya; hanai sister Lorna Taketa, nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles and cousins. Celebration of Life to be held on April 6, 2024, at Toho No Hikari, 3510 Nu'uanu Pali Drive, Honolulu. Visitation 11:00 a.m.; service 12:00 noon.
