Petronila Jandoc Obituary

PETRONILA QUITILEN JANDOC, TRONY Petronila Quitilen Jandoc, affectionately known as "Trony," passed away on July 21, 2024. She was born May 31, 1935, in Santa Cruz, Ilocos Sur, Suyo, Philippines. She graduated from P. R. Pimentel Memorial Academy with honors in the early 1950s as part of the school's first graduating classes. Trony married Jose Purganan Jandoc Sr. in 1954, migrating in 1957 along with first child Josie to join her husband in Hawaii. They settled in Kalihi and Trony would enjoy watching Filipino films at the former Zamboanga Theater in Palama. She entered the hotel industry in 1967 as a housekeeper at the Ilikai Hotel. A few years later, she went on to the Ala Moana Hotel, where she continued her employment until her retirement in 2002. Trony was a devout Catholic and was a lifelong member of Our Lady of the Mount in Kalihi. She was a member of the Sacred Hearts Society and Filipino Catholic Club. She would also help clean the church when needed during major clean up days. But Trony was most devoted to her home and her family. She loved to cook and garden, brightening their front yard with bougainvillea and other flowers. And she was happiest whenever she was able to spend time with her ever-growing family. Trony is survived by children Josefina Javonillo, Daniel (Davilynne) Jandoc, Rebecca Jandoc, Jennifer Jandoc, and Isabelle (Antonio Jr.) Sales; sister Praxcedas (Alfredo Sr.) Javines; grandchildren Sean (JulieAnne) Jandoc, Ryan (Isel) Jandoc, Tyler Javonillo, Devin David) Crockett-Jandoc in Washington, and Sydonie (Adiel) Jandoc-Gonzalez in Florida; and great-grandchildren Caleb Jandoc, Aiden Jandoc, Chloe Jandoc, Aleah Jandoc, Kairi Jandoc, and Sydiel Gonzalez. She is predeceased by husband Jose Purganan Jandoc Sr. and son Jose "Joeboy" Jandoc Jr. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Our Lady of the Mount Church, 1614 Monte Street in Kalihi Valley.
