Rae Sato Obituary

RAE TERUYO SATO Rae Teruyo Sato (n?e Towata), a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, in Honolulu, HI, surrounded by family. She was 93 years old. Rae was born August 8, 1932 in Honolulu to her parents George and Ruth Towata. She graduated from Maryknoll High School and the University of Hawaii. In 1954, Rae moved to the mainland with her husband, then in 1972, she and her family moved back to Honolulu, where she remained for the rest of her life, raising her family while working in real estate, then at HMSA. Rae is survived by her sisters, Pat Logan and Betty Nishimoto, her children, Mike Sato, Dan Sato (Joan Sato), Vicki Sato, and Jennifer Rust (Marc Rust); her grandchildren, Nicole Ibara (Larsen Ibara), Noelani Among (Reed Among), Reina Sato, David Leong (Karly Leong), Rachel Leong-Sato (Satoshi Leong-Sato), Noah Rust, Samantha Rust, and Lucy Rust; and her great-grand- children, Maverick, Ethan, and Cruz. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Shuichi Sato in 2005. She will be laid to rest at Nu'uanu Memorial Park and Mortuary. Arrangements Provided By: Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary LLC
