REBECCA LEI KIM SAKUMA Age 75, of Mililani, passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 5, 2022 at Kaiser Medical Center. Born in Koloa, Kauai on Dec. 22, 1946. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunty, sister and friend to many. She attended Maryknoll High School and later graduated from the University of Hawaii with a teaching degree. She spent many years with the Department of Education as a Kindergarten teacher, resource and mentor, later finishing her career at the Kamehameha Schools. She also loved Disneyland, going many times with her grandchildren and family, making lasting memories. She was a devoted grandmother and celebrated all holidays and birthdays with special gifts to her grandchildren and family. In later years, she was an active participant in the Queen's health Centers"Healing Through Art Program", learning to create and help other cancer survivors. She became an inspiration to others with her paintings, art projects, and crafts. She loved playing the ukulele, playing and practicing hours on end. Becky's warm heart, positive attitude and sense of giving inspired people and made her friends, forever. She is survived by her husband, Steven T. Sakuma, sons, Dennis (Shanda) Sasai and Devin (Michelle) Sasai, Stepdaughter, Charlene (Seabrook) Mow, Grandchildren, Deena, Darra, Sophia, Mariko, Elise, Koi, Ryu, and Zen, Sister, Jo Ann (Kalfred) Chang.
