Stephen Lee Obituary

STEPHEN SC LEE Stephen SC Lee, 78, of Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away on April 17, 2025. He was born in Honolulu on August 30, 1946, to Thomas Lee and Pina Tam Lee. Stephen grew up in Nuuanu and was a proud graduate of Punahou School's Class of 1964. He earned a BA in Business Administration in 1968 and an EMBA in 1979, both from the University of Hawaii. Stephen enlisted in the US Army in June 1969, becoming an Airborne Ranger. He served in Vietnam with the 196th Infantry from 1970-1971, earning many awards including a Bronze Star. He achieved the rank of 1st Lieutenant and the loyalty of his platoon, whose members kept in touch throughout his life. In 1975, Stephen established P & E Foods, Inc, a wholesale food distribution company that he led for the next 50 years. He strongly believed in service to others, first through his time in the Army and then through his company, leaving a lasting legacy of service and loyalty to the community. Stephen was an avid athlete and fisherman, participating in marathons and triathlons, and leading his Alaska fishing trips for over 40 years. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Linda; his daughters Jennifer Otto (Justin) and Kristin Nichols (Elton); his son Matthew; grandchildren Serena Otto, Max Nichols and Troy Nichols; his sister Roberta Christianson, and numerous other extended family members. A celebration of Stephen's life will be held on July 26, 2025 at 10 am at Punahou Chapel. Visitation at 9 am.

Stephen was a very humble person: One would never know his accomplishments serving our country. I valued his honesty and trusted him to provide good quality products, consistently, and with value. God Bless!
