Thelma Furukawa Obituary

Thelma welcomed the new students at U H as a mother would greet their own child. Everyone was treated with love and respect. I never heard her say anything negative. I still maintain that she was the nicest person I have ever encountered.

So sad to hear of Thelma's passing. She lived a long and happy life with her family. She is fondly remembered by her colleagues who worked with her at the School of Public Health at the University of Hawaii at Manoa for so many years. She was such a loving person. We all remember you much with love Thelma. Our group of secretarires who continue to meet once a year, (except for covid years) to continue our connection with each other.

Thelma helped me in her wonderfully kind way at the UH school of public health. I thought of her as my mom away from mom. I'm saddened by her departure, but surely she is in a good place.
