THOMAS SEU Obituary

THOMAS SEU "At 100 years old, Goong Goong decided it was time to go. Didn't need a ride this time . . . no one blocking him in the driveway, didn't want to bother anyone. Just his time to leave the party and head home to see how Popo, Tai Tai, Rosie and his other brothers are doing." Thomas Fong Seu graduated from St. Louis High School, served in the U.S. Army during WWII as an aircraft mechanic and then earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and Master's Degree in Education from Colorado State University at Greely. He chose a career of passion - to be a schoolteacher and pursued his passion until retirement at Farrington High School. Thomas was as selfless as they come. As a teacher, his knack for explaining biology, chemistry and photography concepts in simple terms left a lasting mark on his students. As president of Oahu One Credit Union, his leadership earned him the trust of staff and members. As a grandfather, his sense of humor, shown through his constant joking around, will always be remembered. Thomas is survived by brothers Roy (Connie) Seu, Guy (Cynthia) Seu. His son Myron (Laurie) Seu, daughter Jeri (Tom) Edelan. His loving caregivers Pamela Lamb and Ellen Burton. Stepsons Roger (Jean) Lee, Roddy (Karen) Lee and stepdaughter Risa Lee. He is loved by his grandchildren Nicholas, Lindsey, McKenna, Christian, Noah, Jade and step grandchildren Heather, Alan, Jessica and Adam. He is admired by many nieces and nephews. Please join our families to honor Thomas with a Celebration of His Life on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Valley of the Temples Main Chapel. Visitation will be at 10am, Service at 11am, lunch to follow. Burial at 2pm at Hawaiian Memorial Park. Written expressions and sentiments are welcomed but please no monetary gifts.

Thomas Seu was a kindly colleague who made mel welcome when I began teaching at Farrington High School in 1968. he was s0 well-loved and respected by all. I was shocked to read his obituary, but hey! ... time had not stood still.
l can't begrudge him his rest now at the age of 100, but I was sad to realize he's gone. In my mind I l see him as he was in those days (same smile
as in your photo; thanks for sharing that picture). I was glad to read about his lovely family. He was a quiet friend and a good example to all of us, teachers and students alike
. What's more, his work at the credit union was a great service. A teacher's salary was not much in those days, so the loans from the credit union helped us buy our first car and---2nd mortgage--- helped us finish our house. Imagine the hours he patiently gave to his workplace, his community, and his family. His was a life well-lived, and I feel lucky to have known him.

To the Seu Family,
Sorry for your lost... I was one of many students from Farrington, class of 1972... Fun story, he gave me the distinct honor of being an outstanding when He kicked me out of class. I was looking of the class not paying attention so he kicked me out and when you´re ready you can come back to class..(photograph/ yearbook class) took class all the time @ FHS.
Although I never pursued a career in Photography, I took pictures for my daughters events in High school on the mainland.
Then in 2014 return to hawaii and started to take pictures for my old Alma mater... FHS starting on the football field & expanding to other events.. Currently a Substitute @ FHS and helping in the media of the school, actually learning more than teaching...
Thanks again Mr Seu for your service to me and the Farrington Community. Mahalo & Aloha
