Walter Zukeran Obituary

WALTER MASARU ZUKERAN 83, of Kaneohe, passed away on July 7, 2023. Born February 3, 1940 in Hakipuu to Choho and Kame Zukeran. He attended Waiahole Elementary, Ben Parker, and graduated from Castle High School in 1958. After serving three years in the Army, Walter's Civil Service career started with the Veterans Administration in Minnesota and Texas. He then transferred to the Navy and retired in 1999 as the Department Head of the Global Command and Control System Support Facility at Pearl Harbor. His hobbies included restoring classic Thunderbirds and Corvettes, playing the slack key guitar, and ballroom dancing with his wife. Walter was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great- grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Arlene "Lene" Zukeran; sons, Wade (Sheryl); Guy (Valerie); daughter, Lisa; 7 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brother, George (Fay) Zukeran; sisters, Rose Tsuru Fukumoto and Yoshino Uyehara. Visitation to begin at 9:00 a.m., at Hosoi Garden Mortuary on Saturday, October 21, 2023.
