Carl Spiegelberg Obituary

CARL ALEXANDER SPIEGELBERG Carl Alexander Spiegelberg, of Walnut Creek, California, passed away on December 17, 2024 at age 85. He was born and grew up in Manoa Valley in Honolulu, Hawai'i on December 8, 1939 and was raised there by his parents Carl Henry and Charlotte Harrison Spiegelberg. He has lived in the Bay Area for many years. He graduated from Punahou School in 1957 and the University of Oregon in 1961. He went on to teach English Literature and Drama at Ygnacio Valley High School in Concord, California for 37 years. During this time, he directed and produced many plays with his students. Carl was an extensive world traveler. He is survived by his husband Janek Bubela of fourteen years, brother Harrison, sister-in-law Patti, sister Aileen Spiegelberg Wilder, nieces Susan Spiegelberg, Kathy Wilder Lommen and a nephew Fred Wilder. He recently wrote a book entitled "Carl Alexander, Growing Up an Island Boy, 1939-1957". It can be purchased on Amazon.com. Inurnment ceremony at Oahu Cemetery in Nuuanu Valley on April 30 at 10 am on the makai side of the chapel. May he rest in God's peace! Arrangements Provided By: Oahu Mortuary
