Edith Sawai Obituary

EDITH REIKO KAWASHIMA SAWAI 88 years old passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025. She was a proud graduate of Roosevelt High school and Hawaii business college. In her early years, she worked at the Hawaii school for the deaf and blind. She took a break to raise four children then went to work for Halawa Corrections as a Clerk stenographer. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and spending time with family. Edith was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, and sister. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Thomas (d. 2024). She is survived by her children Edwin, Gregory, Susan (Jeffrey) Swafford, Carolyn; Grandchildren: Saxon, Aziel (Roel) Dawang, Lyssa, Ciena, Great grandchild Sage. Private services were held in January (No Koden). Our family is appreciative of your condolences and kind words along with the great memores of Edith. May she rest in peace.
