EVELYN CHANG Obituary

EVELYN NGIT UNG CHANG April 23, 1924 October 6, 2025 Evelyn passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025, at the age of 101. Born in Honolulu and raised in Hawaii, Evelyn lived a life full of love, laughter and the spirit of Aloha. Evelyn attended Farrington High School, and later moved to California and obtained a degree from Cal State Los Angeles and became a wonderful teacher. She moved back to Honolulu, and taught at both Kaiser High School and Kaimuki High School. She was happiest when spending time with family and friends, playing, mahjong, and tending to her beautiful orchid garden. Her home was always open, and her kindness and generosity touched everyone who knew her. Over her century of life, she celebrated many milestones and created countless memories. Evelyn is survived by her daughters Karen Chang Eubanks (Ray Eubanks) and Wanda Tanaka (Jack Tanaka), her grandson Michael Kelii Ali Eubanks (Micah Eubanks), great-granddaughter Peyton Kalani Eubanks and great-grandsons Izaac Kekoa Eubanks and Nathan Kahelemeakua Eubanks. Evelyn is also survived by her sister Patricia To (Cho Yee). She is preceded in death by her loving husband Howard Chang, siblings Thelma (Lionel), Charles (Susie), Henry (Harriet), Helen (Kenneth), Herbert and Gerald. Evelyn will be deeply missed, but always fondly remembered for her love and generosity, and as a wonderful Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, Sister and Auntie.
