EVELYN COUZIJN Obituary

EVELYN MARIA COUZIJN Evelyn Maria Couzijn passed away on February 22, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with ALS. She was 68 years old. Born in Yokohama, Japan to Willem (Bill) Couzijn and Maria Couzijn-Goemans, the family moved to Kailua, Oahu in 1966. Evelyn attended St. Anthony's School, Kailua Intermediate, Kailua High School, and graduated from the University of Hawaii in 1980 with a degree in Fashion Design and Merchandising with Distinction. She moved to Paris, travelled and worked for Lancome until she moved to New York in 1983. She married in 1989 and settled in Westport CT where she raised her family. Over the next four decades, she built an extraordinary career across many of the world's most iconic luxury beauty houses including Chanel and La Prairie where she served as Senior Vice President of Sales for North America. She rose to the top of her field through hard-won expertise, an exceptional work ethic, and a reputation for delivering results with integrity and grace. Evelyn is survived by her husband, Lorenzo Esposito; their four sons, Christophe, Stefan, Lorenz, and Nicolaas; her daughter-in-law Lindsay Esposito; and two cherished grandsons to whom she was Oma. She is also survived by her three siblings, Leonard Couzijn, Corinne Couzijn-Zajac, Dennis Couzijn, and a large and loving extended family. She faced ALS with the same quiet courage and grace she brought to everything she did. She will be profoundly missed by her family and friends. Funeral Services were held on February 27, 2026 in Westport, CT.
