LEVI KUHAULUA STANLEY Beloved Levi Kuhaulua Stanley aka "Lippy", Handsome, or called 501, was 74 years of age, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025 in
Honolulu, HI. Born October 15, 1951 to mother Nancy Kaui Stanley. Levi was raised and loved by grandparents Nancy & Levi Kuhaulua, Hanai Ohana Bobby & Ruth Milliora of Waianae HI. From an early age Levi demonstrated a passion for sports and education. Encouraged to play football at Waianae High school, Levi excelled on the field and became the first Searider recruited to the University of Hawaii. In 1969 he joined the university of Hawaii as a 210 pound defensive tackle and quickly made his mark. By the end of his collegiate career in 1973, Levi had grown into a formidable athlete weighing 260 pounds. As a team captain and leader in tackles with a school record of 366, he earned honorable mention All-America honors and Second Team All-America recognition. He had his own fan group affectionately known as 'Levi's Kanaka Army. His exceptional performance also led him to play in the 1974 Hula Bowl. Levi's talent extended beyond college football. He was drafted by the San Fransisco 49er's and went on to play professionally for the Hawaiians of the World Football League as well as the NFL. His contributions to sports were celebrated when he was inducted into the University of Hawaii sports circle Hall of Fame in 1995. Beyond his athletic accomplishments, Levi valued education deeply. He earned his masters degree in Education from the University of Hawaii. He dedicated himself to making a positive impact on others through learning and mentorship. Levi went onto work at McCabe, Hamilton & Renny where he enjoyed working up to the last month to his passing. In addition to his professional achievements, Levi's faith played a central role in his life. As a young adult he studied the Bible and made a profound commitment to his spiritual journey when he gave his life to the Lord and was baptized in 1993. Levi is survived by his devoted wife Karen Stanley; daughters Christine Comella-Rivers, Chelsea Muirhead-Tausinga, Leilani Stanley; and three cherished grandchildren Selena, Lily and Levi Tausinga and many siblings,family and friends. Known for his generosity, playfulness, kindness- loving spirit, Levi touched countless lives during his time on earth. He will be missed deeply by all who knew him. May Levi Kuhaulua Stanley's memory bring comfort to those who loved him as they celebrate a life well lived and honor his enduring legacy.
