GAIL BUNDA Obituary

GAIL TOSHIE SHIMAO BUNDA February 22, 1957 May 17, 2024 Gail Bunda, 67, embarked on her next adventure on May 17, 2024. Gail was raised in Kaimuki and Pearl City, graduating from the Star of the Sea High School. She graduated from the University of Hawaii with a B.S. degree in accounting and worked for a number of accounting firms. For the last 11 years, she worked as the in-house accountant for Tanioka's of Waipahu. Gail was also an incredible support to her husband Robert in his decades long career in Hawaii State politics, providing wise guidance and support. Gail had a passionate interest in health and wellness and shared her knowledge generously with others. She recently received her certificate as an Integrated Nutritional Health coach from the Institute of Integrated Nutrition. She enjoyed cooking healthy meals for her family, as well as exercising, hiking and aqua jogging. Together, Gail and Bobby were interested in adventure and growing their faith. Within the last few years, they traveled to Israel twice, and Turkey and Greece to learn about the biblical significance of those countries. Gail's life was full of love, laughter and unforgettable memories with friends and family. She inherited the God given quality of unconditional love of family and friends that will remain forever in our memories and hearts. Gail married Robert Bunda 42 years ago, residing in Wahiawa. She is survived by husband, Robert Bunda, daughter, Ashley Bunda Yaris (Chris), sons Robson Bunda, James Robert Bunda, brothers Dr. Mark Shimao (Lori), Greg Shimao, sister Fay Daniels, step-children Rachel Gee (Troy), Ryan Bunda (Brandi), grandson Lyon Fountain, step-grandchildren Christian Gee, Nancy Olivia Gee, Rhian Bunda and Brewer Bunda. Visitation 5:00 pm, Service 6:00 pm on Friday, July 12, 2024, at Mililani Memorial Park, Makai Chapel-Waipio.
