Kirk had a welcoming smile-I remember it from little kid times. It was there even when it had been years in between visits to Hawaii. I am going to miss my cousin forever and am so sorry I couldn´t be there to say goodbye. Hugs Aunty Cynthia & Ty.

I was heartbroken to hear the news yesterday that I lost a childhood friend, someone who shared so many memories with me on the baseball field playing for the Kailua Little League, Cubs. It feels like just yesterday we were running around the bases, our families cheering us on from the sidelines spending countless hours at that park. Some might have called us "park rats" but I always thought of us as "park angels," a group of kids who lived for the game and the friendships bloomed in the dirt and sunshine. Kirk was always the one of the first to show up with Uncle Carl and Tyler, always giving his best, and always with that smile that could light up the whole field. We spent so many moments out there together, and those memories will stay with me forever. Our families were so close, and the bond we formed at the little league field was like nothing else. It's a rare gift to have had a friendship like that, and I feel lucky for the time we had. Kirk, you will be deeply missed. Rest in love, my friend. A hui hou, Michelle
