STEPHEN WILLIAMS, WILLIE Stephen James "Willie" Williams, 73, passed away on August 23, 2025, in Boise, Idaho. Born on May 20, 1952, in Honolulu, Hawaii, Willie lived a life marked by determination, positivity, and deep devotion to his family and friends. Willie is survived by his beloved wife Peg and their daughter Erin. He also leaves behind two brothers who reside in Hawaiione on the Big Island and the other on Oahuas well as numerous nieces and nephews in both Hawaii and Boise. He was preceded in death by his father Alex Williams, mother Brownie Williams, father-in-law Larry McEntee, and mother-in-law Carolyn McEntee. A proud graduate of Punahou School in Honolulu, Willie went on to attend the University of Idaho on a baseball scholarship. There he earned a degree in business and began building a foundation for what would become a distinguished career in banking. His time in Idaho left a lasting impression; years later, he would return to Boise with his family after retirement, embracing it as a second home. Willie's professional journey was one of dedication and leadership. He rose through the ranks at First Hawaiian Bank to become an executive vice president overseeing operations across Kauai, Maui, and Oahu. His work was widely respected throughout the islands' financial community. During this time, he and his family had the unique opportunity to live on three different Hawaiian Islandsa chapter filled with rich experiences and friendships that endured for decades. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Willie was an extraordinary waterman. He found joy and freedom surfing the waves of Hawaii, windsurfing along its shores, and paddle boarding across its tranquil waters. His love for the ocean was matched only by his passion for golf. A top-notch golfer, Willie was fortunate to play on some of the most beautiful courses around the worldexperiences he cherished deeply. Those who knew Willie will remember him for his unwavering optimism and generous spirit. He had an innate ability to see the good in everyone he met and greeted each person with a warm smile that could light up any room. His grit and fortitude were evident not only in how he lived but also in how he faced life's challengeswith courage and grace. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to St. Lukes Hospital in Boise for their compassionate care during Willie's final monthsespecially Dr. Dan Zuckermanand to all the nurses and doctors who treated him with such kindness. Willie will be sorely missed but never forgotten. His legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched with his kindness, strength, and enduring positivity.
