WILLIAM AHUE Obituary

WILLIAM KAIMANA MCWAYNE AHUE May 29, 1983 - February 1, 2026 William Kaimana McWayne Ahue, 42, was known for his joyful spirit, warm and welcoming smile, positive outlook, and steadfast willingness to support others. He valued family, friendship, and service, and he brought energy and generosity to all who knew him. William was a proud graduate of Kamehameha Schools Kapalama, Class of 2001. He completed the Naval Academy Preparatory School (NAPS) in 2002, followed by the Naval Academy from 2002 to 2004. He earned a B.S. in Meteorology from UH Manoa in 2008 and an M.S. in Meteorology from the University of WisconsinMadison in 2010. He was a certified Incident Meteorologist (IMET) with the National Weather Service, supporting wildfire operations. At the time of his passing, he was employed as a forecaster with the National Weather Service, Honolulu, HI. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Kaimana Ahue Jr.; his grandparents, Frederick "Mackie" and Naomi McWayne; and Jerry Sr. and Elizabeth Ahue. He is survived by his mother, Heather "Cissie" Ahue; his brother, Darrell John "Keahi" Ahue; Rowena "Kala" and Jordan Ahue; his hanai brother, Maika McWayne (Claudia); his hanai sister, Lindsey Ho'omalu; his hanai grandparents, Mark Sr. and Ruby Ho'omalu; his nephews, Kamakana and Onipa'a McWayne, Kala'i and Kaimana Ebalaroza; his nieces, Ka'ena McWayne, Kalani Neal and Allisa Ann Neal; and many beloved aunties, uncles and cousins. Celebration of Life Date: Friday, March 6, 2026 Location: Borthwick Mortuary, Maunakea Chapel Visitation: 10:30 a.m. Service: 11:30 a.m. Burial: 2:00 p.m. at Hawaiian Memorial Park
