DIANE J. MARCIEL Diana J. Marciel, age 85, of Clintonville, WI, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at her home. Diana was born April 1, 1940, in Honolulu, Hawaii, a daughter of the late Morris and Dorothy (Uemura) Understeller. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Honolulu, Hawaii. Following high school, she went on to attend the University of Hawaii where she met the love of her life, Valentine "Val" Marciel. On August 26, 1961, the couple was united in marriage in Honolulu, Hawaii. Diana set aside her college education to devote herself to raising their children. Her husband preceded her in death on July 29, 2021. Her hobbies included playing Mexican Train, going to the casino, gardening, yardwork, and watching the University of Hawaii women's volleyball. Survivors include her children, Deborah (Kevin) Naeyaert of Clintonville, Heidi (John) Vavul of Honolulu, HI, and Valentine "Val" (Charlotte) Marciel III of Honolulu, HI; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. Diana was preceded in death by her sister, Catherine Choo; and brother, Gilbert Understeller. The scattering of Diana J. Marciel's ashes will take place at Lanikai Beach at a later date.
