I worked with Orin at the medical center for 18 years. When he sent me a consult for one of his patients, he seemed genuinely concerned and worded the request so well that I knew exactly what he wanted. Kaiser would do well to use him as a model of the physicians it seeks to recruit. Requiescat in pace.

It is with a heavy heart we send our sincerest condolences to the family of Dr. Orin Gima. Dr. Gima was our physician at Kaiser Permanente more than 35 years ago and we could not have been in better hands. We thanked him everyday for the many medical decisions he made on our behalf, a couple that primarily saved my husband's life. We were so devastated when he retired, and have never found a more caring, selfless, understanding person since. My husband always said that he felt that he could always talk to Dr. Gima, be upfront with him and he to both of us. Our youngest daughter also attended Aiea Intermediate with Lorin and was in band class, that was something we also shared. We send our heartfelt prayers, and thank you for sharing Dr. Gima with all of us. God bless you all!
